DEAD CAN DANCE

Hello everybody¡¡ Because I am a big fan of music, today I would like to write about a music band called dead can dance, formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1981, initially by Lisa Gerrard (vocals) Brendan Perry (vocals and guitar), Paul Erikson (bass guitar) and Simon Monroe (drums). In May, 1982 the band moved to London were the signed with alternative rock label 4AD Records. With the duo (Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry) the line-up of musicians were Paul Erikson, James Pinker and Peter Ulrich. Their debut album dead can dance was released on 1984 and produced by themselfs, later came spleen and ideal (1986), within the realm of a dying sun (1987), the serpent's egg (1988), Aion (1990), into the labyrinth (1993) and spiritchaser (1996).
Their music has many musical elements that were combined  in such a way giving as a result an incredible, unique and original music who mixed african rhythms, gaelic folk, gregorian chants, middle eastern mantras and art-rock. All that of course with the great and beautiful interpretations of the voices of Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, who you might know because she is the female voice of the soundtracks of the famous film "Gladiator" (2000), for wich she received a golden globe award.
Their albums where not widely available in the United States until the 90's, where they recorded and released in 1994 a live performance who took place in California under the name of Toward the Within, which is the only official live album of the band. Before the released of their last album spiritchaser (1996) the band separated, and Gerrard and Perry went on separate ways. The band reunited on 2005 to record a new tour, with 13 shows in europe and 8 in the United States titled Selections from Europe 2005. In a interview  for Bulgaria’s Katehizis.com online music magazine in 2010, Brendan Perry talks about a possibility of a future reunion of the band, and even a new album and tour for 2012. I can't wait to listen to the new album, this is one of my favourite bands ever because I've never heard anything like that again, Besides the voices, male and female are also one of my favourites. I would like to give some of my favourite songs of the band : "Sanvean", "Don't fade away", "the wind that shakes the barley", "Rakim", "Cantara", "song of sophia" and "song of the stars"  and some links of a few performances of their live album Toward the within:

You can also cheek the musical work of Lisa Gerrard with Pieter Bourke, or with Hans Zimmer for the soundtrack of Gladiator. they are also great pieces of musical work.

I hope you like it. Take care.

Hello everybody!!! well today I'm going to write about this picture which is one of my favorites. It was taken in november 20, 2010 and it shows to my sister Javiera, to my youngest sister Antonia, to my cousin Felipe and to the house pet, a little dog called Jade. We took the picture or actually we programed the camara and runned to that place to put us in our place and before the flash of the camara was shot the dog came in and try to lick my cousin's face, we were in a relative's house in Ocoa who is an incredible place to rest. This picture it is one of my favourites because it brings me very good memories, we were there that weekend to celebrated my birthday on the 21 and we were all playing with my little sister and then in the nigth we stayed awake laughing and singing and eating a huge pizza that we make in the great oven that's behind us in the picture . Besides the place it's incredible, you have all that nature around, everything it's quit green, there's a nice weather and it is very quit, there's no sound of cars or anything like that, and also this picture shows to my beloved sisters and my cousin who is practically another younger brother, we always visit each other and spend a lot of our weekends together. We laugh a lot that day, running around with the little dog chasing us, taking a lot of pictures and videos also. We have a lot of fun and it was one of my greatest birthday's I've ever had. So that's the story behind this picture. Take care, Bye.

Jackson Pollock

born on january 28, 1912, was an american painter of the abstract expressionist movement who reached a considerable fame. He married the artist Lee Kresner who was an important influence to his work. He had alcohol problems most of his live wich lead hem to his death in an alcohol-related accident in 1956 He was only 44 years old.
Pollock used a very different and unique technic to create his artistic work, he put his canvas into the ground and dripped  the oil over them using different colors and an abstract composition.
I like Jackson Pollock's work because I find very interesting his compositions, I like the way he treats the color on his paintings and all the different lines that he painted. It seems to me at least that his works vibrates with all the color and movement that seems to take place on them. It seems to be more underneath all the chaotic lines, like if you could put yourself into the painting or stretch your hand and touch the lines like in they were ropes or something like that.
